Alex Thorne and her wife were rejected from hosting their wedding by a posh venue in Cape Town called Beloftebos. After questioning this, they found out it was because they were in a same-sex relationship that the venue was not available to them.
"The issue is indeed not with the dates. The reason is that we only host heterosexual marriages. We wish not to offend but it is our venue policy," the owner Coia de Villiers wrote back to Thorne.
As if by some sort of coincidence, at the same time a trending topic started globally called #LGBTBabes.
