A body has been found in the search for one of two brothers swept into the sea while fishing off Cornwall.
Charles Allen, 21, and his brother Dr Robert Allen, 30, were knocked into the water off Treyarnon Bay near Padstow, Cornwall, at about 2.35pm on September 4.
The keen fishermen, from Bristol, were on holiday in Cornwall with family when the tragedy happened.
Mr Allen was rescued within minutes of a 999 call being made but was pronounced dead at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.
Police were notified at 8am on Monday that the body of a man had been located on Constantine Bay in Padstow.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Officers were alerted by a member of the public and attended the scene along with HM Coastguard who retrieved the body.
“The family of Robert Allen have been informed and formal identification will be carried out shortly.”
Last week Anthony and Margaret Allen, the parents of the brothers, said they were praying for Dr Allen to be found so they could “say goodbye to our sons together”.
“Our sons were happy, kind, intelligent, loving brothers and we are in a state of shock at what has happened,” they said.
“We are living a nightmare that you would never want to happen to anyone.”
They described Mr Allen as a “hard-working, loving son” and said Dr Allen was an associate at the University of Bath, specialising in 3D printing.
“They both loved being part of our large family and had recently become uncles,” they said.
“They took their fishing seriously and would study timetables and forecasts before venturing out.
“They were experienced fisherman but a freak accident has changed our lives forever and it is difficult to find words to explain our pain.”
