Can We Please Stop Body-Shaming Our Perfect Wedding's Nomsa Buthelezi?

Popular wedding show, Our Perfect Wedding trended well into Monday morning. And while the couple's love story made for interesting comments; there was no shortage of jabs taken at interim presenter, Nomsa Buthelezi's fashion sense.

While it's normal that people react differently to a presenter's fashion sense, some of the commentary is downright mean and goes so far as to attack her body.

Started from slenders now we're here #opwmzansi#OurPerfectWedding

And this is not new.

Earlier this year, when she stood in for former presenter, Thembisa Mdoda, Buthelezi faced a barrage of body and fashion-shaming. Before standing in for Mdoda, Buthelezi had expressed concern that people would focus on her body size instead of her talent.

Further, it seems some pastors are now body-shamers -- while officiating weddings. Something that left a bitter taste in some people's mouths.

The pastor, loosely translated, said: "Slender women are behind you now...you will hold on to this sdudla (plus-sized woman) until Jesus comes back."

I don't like this sdudla name. It's like they want her to feel insecure ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„ #OurPerfectWedding#opw

But fam, there is nothing funny about body-shaming. This is Nomsa's body, the bride's body -- bodies that do not define the entirety of who they are.

Each can be to their own without body-shaming.

And Nomsa, in case you were wondering, you have a lot of love out there.
