Extra Police Patrols After Girl, 13, Raped In Park

Police have increased patrols after a 13-year-old girl was dragged into woodland and raped.

The girl was walking into Ladywell Park in Bannockburn when she was attacked from behind.

The assailant dragged the teenager a short distance into a wooded area and subjected her to the sexual assault.

Police said she endured a “terrifying ordeal” and appealed for information about the attack which happened between 6.30pm and 7pm on Saturday February 10.

Officers in Forth Valley will be increasing high visibility additional patrols in the Bannockburn area in the wake of the attack.

Detective Inspector Stephen Morris said: “This is a shocking incident, however thankfully these are rare.

“In incidents like this, when they do occur, the full resources of various specialisms within Police Scotland are made available.”

The suspect is described as being a man of skinny build who was around 5ft 4 inches tall and well spoken.

He was wearing black clothing, gloves and a hooded top with the hood up and the bottom of his face covered and had old-looking training shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 101, quoting incident number 1065 of February 15, or approach any of the officers in the area.
