One of the hottest properties in British football, Jordan Rhodes, has stated his desire to focus on playing for Huddersfield and Scotland despite speculation over his future.
The 22-year-old has been linked with a number of top clubs in the country both north and south of the border. Fulham, Aston Villa and Blackburn were all linked with the player, while his boyhood club Celtic are keen admirer's of the striker also.
Rhodes bagged 48 goals for Huddersfield and the Under-21 Scotland side last season, which inevitably means his price tag is significant.
Speaking ahead of Scotland's international friendly against Australia, Rhodes commented on the speculation, he said: "Sometimes you might see your name in the paper but you think they are talking about someone else. You always dreamt of seeing your name in lights one day but you never thought it would come true.
"While I'm still working as hard as I can, seeing my name in the papers linked with one club or another, it doesn't really seem that real. It seems surreal if anything.
"While it's fantastic and very flattering, you don't really take too much notice of it because you don't really think too much of it is true."
Scottish champions Celtic have been linked with Rhodes over the past few months and with a lack of quality striking prowess upfront, Rhodes would be a huge signature for the Parkhead side but with his price tag reportedly £6 million Celtic would be priced out of a move, even if Celtic qualify for the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.
On the link with Celtic, Rhodes added: "I was a Celtic fan growing up and had all the jerseys, and went to the matches with my dad. It would be something as a kid I dreamt of doing, but they have got a fantastic club and I'm sure they will attract many a good player.
"Sometimes it might not happen but as a kid it would have been a dream come true."
Rhodes will have another chance to impress his suitors when he takes to the field against Australia, with Scotland manager Craig Levein stating that the 22-year-old will start the game.
Sadly for Celtic, the more Rhodes impresses the less likely the Scottish champions have in securing the striker.
