The Destruction Of The Sensible

The Destruction Of The Sensible Middle

When you think of what's best in life, what fills your mind? Is it a moment of kindness? A favourite meal? A lover? A parent? A child? A personal achievement? Or is it anger? Hate? An argument? Fighting? Hurt?

Why Trump

Why Trump Won

I'm no fan of Donald Trump and I think it's sad that these were the two best candidates the Republicans and Democrats had to offer. However, personal feelings aside, looking at the conversations taking place on social media and the stories that have dominated the alternative news, there seem to be a number of underlying reasons for a Trump victory.

A Simple Way To Make The Internet A Better

A Simple Way To Make The Internet A Better Place

Our computers, tablets and phones don't just give us a window on the world: they're doorways that also allow people in. The anonymous nature of the Internet means that we will often not know the true identity of people we might interact with on social media.

Humanity, You're

Humanity, You're Fired!

"The market has decided this is my stuff," won't work for much longer because there soon won't be enough people with jobs to support a market. The next phase of the history of stuff might be, "We all get the same stuff," but that sounds suspiciously like socialism, which can't possibly be right...

How Brexit Has Crippled

How Brexit Has Crippled TTIP

Reports coming out of Brussels and Washington suggest that the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, otherwise known as TTIP, has been crippled, possibly killed, by Brexit. Informed sources suggest that TTIP will be parked until Britain's Article 50 negotiations have been completed and that there is now a possibility that the deal will never be concluded.

Why the World Should Not Fear

Why the World Should Not Fear Brexit

A fevered referendum has divided Britain and unsettled the world. I've previously criticised the tone of the Remain and Leave campaigns for stoking fear and hate, and we are now living with the consequences of their irresponsibility.

Why Britain Voted to Leave the European

Why Britain Voted to Leave the European Union

There can be no denying that the establishment put absolutely everything into keeping Britain in the European Union, and yet somehow, the leave message, a message of hope, of optimism about Britain's future as an independent nation, of a return to proper parliamentary democracy, resonated with people.

What You Need to Know About the EU's

What You Need to Know About the EU's Finances

Do you know that the EU has outstanding, unfunded liabilities of around €340 billion? No? Maybe it's naive of me, but I just assumed that since we're voting in a referendum on whether or not to stay in the EU, at the very least, voters would have been informed about the organisation's financial operations.

Apprentice Cameron Summons 'Master of Lies', Darth Juncker

I wasn't sure how to approach the news that 'Master of Lies' Jean-Claude Juncker has been drafted in by David 'Scourge of Pensioners' Cameron to make a major intervention in the referendum campaign next week. Why would the Prime Minister call in his boss, the President of the European Commission, a man with a less than exemplary reputation?

What Every Remain Voter Should Know Before June

What Every Remain Voter Should Know Before June 23rd

If you're planning to vote remain, please take a moment to read this article. It may help you reconsider the most important political decision of your life. Most people I've spoken to say they're planning to vote leave, but of the few who say they'll vote remain, these have been the most common reasons...

Why Jeremy Corbyn Is Lying to Himself (and Us) About TTIP

The second category of treaty is one where there is mixed competence. These treaties are negotiated by the EU, but are then sent to each of the member parliaments for ratification. Any one nation state can prevent a mixed competence treaty from being ratified, effectively exercising a veto and killing the treaty on the floor of its national parliament. The treaty is then dead EU-wide.

Let's Solve the EU Problem Once and for

Let's Solve the EU Problem Once and for All

If there is a Leave vote, there will be a period of uncertainty as Parliament tries to decipher exactly what a Leave vote means and how to deal with it. Whichever way Parliament tries to address the people's mandate, there will be loud cries of unfairness from all sides, and each cry of foul could slow down or derail whatever mechanism is used to give effect to the Leave vote.
