That in fact Maths and English is not everyone's cup of tea, and making it compulsory is very stressful. We don't make it compulsory to take music exams over and over nor do we make it essential to be good at sport or business.

Without a serious re-think about how we encourage new teachers to get into the profession, perhaps coupled with a radical change in approach to the education system as a whole, it is sadly likely that the shortage of teachers England will only become more of a problem.

Creativity should be celebrated within schools. Creative people invent, problem-solve, discuss and communicate in fresh, exciting ways, we don't want this to be lost during school. Whatever the industry whether it's medical, science, engineering, academic research, technology, business, entrepreneurial; they all require creative thinkers to progress.

For some students the retention of subject information is good throughout the year, and therefore they won't need to revise for more than a couple of hours each day. However, there are those that struggle either because they haven't applied themselves effectively throughout the year or because they genuinely find learning harder than other students.

If left undetected dyslexia can cause difficulties with learning, and in extreme cases children are often labeled as 'stupid' or 'lazy'. This can lead to further problems of feelings of isolation and low self-esteem. The consequences of such neglect would be hugely damaging to students with dyslexia.

Dyslexia is characterised by difficultly reading, phonological (auditory) encoding problems, poor processing speed and the inability to use language skills effectively. It's also a reading disorder. Recent Professors from Durham and Yale University have suggested that Dyslexia is a Myth, that dyslexia should be abandoned as it lacks scientific clarity and educational value.

When comparing UK students to students in Asian countries such as China and Singapore, we can see these leading countries place huge importance on the value of education, which is just not replicated to the same degree in the UK.

Working together is the best option, it would benefit children, teachers, parents and schools, cohesive learning is the best way forward! Regardless of all the changes that are taking place, parents wouldn't be scared any more if we work together, they'd be happy.

Clearing: if you've just missed out on your conditional offer don't worry, call both Universities and see what they say. I would advise you to write four or five bullet points down which you can refer back to when you're on the phone.

The education industry has not yet caught up with the daily and continuous changes in technology. Classroom based learning on the other hand, still incorporates note taking from white boards, reading through bulky textbooks and filling-in-the-gaps in hand out after hand out.
