Alexandre Dreyfus is the CEO of privately held Mediarex Sports & Entertainment which acquired the Global Poker Index (GPI) in 2012. Now the leading digital hub for the poker industry, the company has 4 million poker players using its services every year. GPI ranks 450,00 players in 97 countries and is the poker ranking authority, endorsed by World Series of Poker, European Poker Tour, Asian Poker Tour, etc...

With Alexandre at the helm, the company is building to become the equivalent of the UFC, NASCAR, FIFA, F1, MLB, ATP or PGA for poker. On a mission to ‘Sportify Poker’, the company plans to aggregate the game’s currently fragmented audience - which number 100 million+ around the world.

In July 2015, the company raised $4.9 Million from Venture Capital in China and Sports Marketing executives from Europe. They are aiming to expand the poker 'segment' from a vertical of $4 billion market to a mainstream sport & skill game; connecting consumer brands to the 100 million+ poker fans in the world and structure this audience to monetise it.

The company is launching the Global Poker League (GPL), the first professional poker league, in January 2016 by building a bridge between the game of poker, the sport and entertainment industry and the emerging eSports landscape.

In March 2015, they launched the Global Poker Masters the poker's ‘World Cup’, that gathered the 40 best poker players from the best poker nations and more than 1 million viewers. They organise the European Poker Awards, now in its 14th year, and have launched the American Poker Awards, which are held at SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.


Prior to owning Mediarex Sports & Entertainment, Alexandre Dreyfus’s entrepreneurial business acumen saw him develop a string of successful businesses, many of which market leading or industry firsts in their respective fields, all having since been sold to leading public listed companies.

Poker has a large but fragmented global fan base that needs aggregation, innovation and disruption to be re-activated. I believe we need to enhance the game, create proper fan engagement - that doesn't exist anymore - and build content to fulfill an existing appetite.
