Having been born nearly 200 years too late to take part in any real or useful exploration I fit squarely into the modern phenomenon of weekend-warrior/adventure-tourist/quarter-life crisis escapist seeking out contrived and meaningless opportunities for self-deprivation and physical hardship, and often paying large amounts of money for the pleasure.
