Alison Pearn is Associate Director of the Darwin Correspondence Project, University of Cambridge. With her colleagues she is researching and publishing all letters written by or to the naturalist Charles Darwin (1809-1882), and has jointly edited nine volumes (so far) of the award-winning definitive edition The Correspondence of Charles Darwin (F. Burkhardt, et al. eds, Cambridge University Press, 1985-), together with a volume of selected letters and a book about the Darwin collections in Cambridge. Alison also writes for the popular press, and has appeared in radio interviews and programmes, including In Our Time, and Woman’s Hour on the BBC. She collaborated with the playwright, Craig Baxter, and with Menagerie Theatre Company, to create a highly successful dramatisation of Darwin's letters, Re:Design.
