Andrew Poppy

Composer, musician, record producer and creative artist

Andrew Poppy is an artist with a unique body of work and collaborations that mix acoustic and electronic sounds with language, visual images and performance disciplines.

In the 1970's he studied music at Goldsmiths College, with John Cage and piano with Susan Bradshaw. In the mid-1980s he signed to Trevor Horn and Paul Morley’s maverick pop label ZTT as a contemporary composer and artist making three albums which evade classification.

His orchestral work Recently 'Revolution Number Eight Airport for Joseph Beuys' for orchestra and dub electronics was presented on the south bank by BBC Concert Orchestra in their electronica season.

He is the artistic director of a number of on-going creative projects. The Sustaining Ensemble, Field Radio Recordings and BARDSLEY_POPPY projects.
