Freelance journalist

I'm a freelance journalist, based in London. I specialise in the arts but I'm also interested in stories related to Israel and the Jewish world. I'm a regular contributor to The Jewish Chronicle and The Jewish Daily Forward. I have written frequently for The Times Educational Supplement (TES) Magazine and my work has appeared in The Guardian, The Jerusalem Post and various online publications and newspapers, including
The Times of Israel. Samples of my work can be seen on my website, www.annejoseph.co.uk

I'm currently studying an MA (part-time) in World Cinema at Birkbeck, University of London.

Prior to journalism I was an editor working independently with writers and I was also submissions editor for Haus Publishing. I have had two books published: From the Edge of the World (Vallentine Mitchell, 2003), a compilation of letters and stories by Jewish refugees and The Sea of Azov (Five Leaves, 2009), a collection of short stories, published in association with the charity, World Jewish Relief (WJR)
