Ashley James

Presenter, DJ, writer, and secret hopeless romantic

Ashley James is a presenter, model, and successful blogger. Ashley currently has her own weekly radio show on Hoxton Radio, where she tells fascinating tales and and interviews stars and emerging talent such as Stylo G, Izzy Bizu and Tiggs da Author whilst playing an eclectic soundtrack that perfectly portrays her love for music. Ashley got her first taste for presenting aged just 16 when she secured work experience at BBC Radio Cumbria. She would interview locals about their opinions on hard-hitting news such as the price of Cumberland sausages before eventually securing a small slot on the lunchtime show voicing her opinions on local news. This passion for presenting and radio continued into her university years where she worked for the news team for her University Radio station whilst studying for her degree.

Most recently Ashley has presented a 12 episode series, Style Stars, on Sky channel PopGirl TV, in which she set a series of fashion challenges to teenage girls. On top of this, Ashley was the regular presenter for online channels Clothes Show TV and Fashtag TV, as well as live hosting at red carpet events, at the Clothes Show Live, and at festivals to crowds of up to 3000 people. Ashley’s presenting work has seen her interview the likes of The Vamps, Henry Holland, Luke Friend, Paul Potts, Rizzle Kick’s and X Factor winner Matt Cardle amongst many others. Ashley is no stranger to the camera having rose to fame on popular E4 show Made in Chelsea, and has since appeared on Channel 5’s Big Brother’s Bit on the Side, ITV’s Celebrity Dinner Dates, and has some exciting TV projects in the pipeline!

Ashley’s modelling career began after she was scouted in her hometown, Newcastle, and has since gained a wealth of modelling experience. In the last couple of years alone, Ashley has been the face of Charles Worthington, PETA, Story Jewellery, Lipstick Boutique, Tutti Rouge, McArthur Glenn, not to mention her catwalk appearance for PPQ during London Fashion Week. Having being five times named GQ’s hottest woman of the week, Esquire’s Women We Love this Week, and named as BBC 1xtra’s Hottie of the Week and agencies in the UK, Milan, Istanbul, and Australia. it’s no surprise her modelling career is going from strength to strength.

Chapter 3: Holbox Island

"Welcome home", I was told with a smile as I stepped into CasaSandra after a mammoth 20 hour journey from London to Holbox Island and it felt like home. All my worries and apprehension were washed away the moment I walked up the candlelit footpath of the boutique hotel. My Mexican adventure had begun.

Chapter 2: Fear And Judgement

What I have to regularly remind myself is that people will judge you whether you worry about their opinions or not, so you may as well do what you want to do. Plus, when you think about it, worrying about the opinion of others is actually incredibly self-indulgent because it's based on the assumption that you are important enough to others that they even care about what you're up to.

Chapter 1: Going Travelling

"Holy fuck!", I thought as I walked through airport security, away from a waving Charlotte as I fought back tears. It seemed ironic that in walking into airport security, I was leaving behind my own. "What the fu*king fu*k am I doing?"

Five Things That Made January Amazing

Well guys, it looks like we somehow made it through the most depressing month of the year, January. As if the comedown of the festive period isn't difficult enough to deal with, we also give up alcohol! Why do we do this to ourselves?

Fun in the Sun, Festivals, and Graduate Fashion Week

I always say that my favourite thing about my job is its diversity, and in the last couple of months I've been on so many adventures and discovered so many cool things that I don't even know how to fill you in on it all! But I will, of course, 'cause that's kinda the point of this post.

Running, The Races and Rudyard's 'Jungle Book'

It seems that I've been talking about it for months, but by this time next week I'll have actually completed the London Marathon. I'm absolutely terrified. I'm not that worried about it from a fitness point of view, although I am under no doubt it will be challenging.

Disney, DJing, and Doing Running

Wow! It's hard to believe another couple of weeks have gone by since my last post! I can't believe we are in April already, does anyone else feel like this year is just disappearing? I've had the best couple of weeks! I've been overseas, had my hair and makeup done professionally 6 separate times and done more exercise than I can even comprehend, so it's no surprise I'm writing this exhausted from bed...

Tennis, Tea and Trying to Keep Up With the Kardashians

If you asked me what I loved most about my job, I would say the variety; no day is ever the same. Since London Fashion Week, work has taken me to play tennis at Wimbledon, discover the Kardashian's beauty secrets from one of their makeup artists, and even watch a chocolate themed orchestra, so I thought I'd tell you all about it.

A Fashionably Late Fashion Week Post

As I mentioned in my post last season, London Fashion Week is usually something I love and loathe with equal intensity. However, this time round I absolutely loved everything about it, perhaps because I was more organised.

"New Year, New You!" (And Other Clichés)

Well let me tell you now that 2015 wasn't kinder to me. I'd even go as far as saying that it was one of the most testing years of my life for one reason or another. And judging by my social media feeds between Christmas and New Year, I'm not the only one who felt like this.

Fitness in Ibiza

When I think back to the state in which I returned from Ibiza last summer, I feel smug that I felt so refreshed this time round. Whilst I do love to let my hair down I'm already excited about returning to the magical little island for another fitness break. And ok, perhaps I'll mix in a bit of partying too - life is about balance after all!

Post Fashion Week Recovery

The idea of the week was to demonstrate how to realign our bodies with our mind and to regain our focus in a world full of stresses and distractions. What could be more perfect?

London Fashion Week

I live by the mantra that you should never just like anything - you need to show passion and either love or hate something. Lucky for me I both love and loathe Fashion Week in equal measure, which resulted in the most exciting rollercoaster of a week ever. Well, technically three weeks as it took a week to prepare for it and a week to recover.
