Beth Phillips

Young(ish), widowed and mostly still smiling

Beth left Exeter University in 1999 with a first class degree in education and humanities. She taught in a primary school in Nailsea, North Somerset, for five years, before moving to Warwickshire to live with her future husband, Duncan. Beth taught pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties in mainstream schools across Warwickshire for nine years, and now teaches in a local mainstream primary school.

Beth, aged 40, is Mum to two lively boys, Sam, aged 8, and Thomas, aged 7. They keep her young and fit by cycling off across the local parks, usually in opposite directions. In April 2013, her husband, Dunc, died suddenly during a game of football, aged just 39. Beth, Sam and Thomas are now a family of three - a slightly smaller ‘Team Phillips’.
