Director of Music at the British Council

Cathy Graham became Director of Music at the British Council in 2006 following 28 years in the music industry as professional musician and manager. She leads a team which works across all genres of music on projects which create trust and understanding between the UK and the rest of the world. She is Chair of Streetwise Opera, the award-winning charity that uses music as a tool to help homeless people move forward with their lives, a Board Member of ISPA (International Society for Performing Arts), and a National Music Advisor to the Arts Council of Wales. The British Council, the UK’s international cultural relations body, works in more than 100 countries worldwide, building trust and opportunity for the UK through education, the English language and the arts.
