Charissa Cassels is a third-year Journalism and Media Studies student, majoring in Political and International Studies at Rhodes University. She is an activist at heart and enjoys writing poetry, especially about the struggle of Black women. Recently, Charissa has become more vocal about how it feels to be a Coloured person in society, the stigma’s attached to Coloured people and how people have attempted to erase our identity. She is also passionate about transformation across all spheres and how transformation differs for various people.
