Clarke Carlisle

Retired professional footballer

Clarke is a retired professional footballer, having played for 17 years across all four professional leagues in England.

He served as Chairman of the player’s union, the PFA for four years, as well as various representative roles including for UKAD, Manchester FA and UCFB advisory boards. He has also launched his own charity, the Clarke Carlisle Foundation for Dual Diagnosis, with the aim to change the face of Mental Health education and care services across sport and industry.

Suffering from depression and mental health issues throughout his adult life, Clarke speaks openly about his battle, working to break down the stigma around these issues.
