David Pearl

Corporate Creativity Maestro Founder, Pearl Group. Co-founder, Street Wisdom.

David Pearl (Pearl Group) is creative confidante to some of the world's most significant organisations.

He sang with Placido Domingo at the age of 9 and since then his life has bridged the worlds of the arts (theatre, opera, TV, film, improv) and business. He's known for the artful way he brings business-as-unusual approaches to the Board Room and Front line alike.

He's an international keynote speaker - animator would be a better word - and award-winning author (Will There Be Donuts?)

In 2012 he co-founded Street Wisdom a non-profit venture that is bringing free inspiration workshops to city streets around the world.

He says there is no such thing as an ordinary day, just ordinary thinking.

He's an enthusiastic (if out of breath) road cyclist and lives in London and Asti with his ceramicist wife and two children for whom he is part-time breakfast chef and entertainer (unpaid).

Five Minute Mindfulness

The Dalai Lama - who's busier than you or I - finds time to meditate. Apparently he sits for two hours every day, unless he is really busy - when he sits for FOUR hours. But where are we, less enlightened mortals, supposed to find the time when are days are full of stuff that's clamouring for our attention?

Still Life!

A multi-disciplinary, serial professional (dentist, lawyer, coroner, judge) Bernard Pearl's life is currently restricted to a hospital bed where he has more than enough time to dwell on the moment. Around him people are whiling away their day staring at screens or into mid air. Not my dad.

The Mick of Time: Or How to Get More Satisfaction From Your Schedule in 2015

Ok, I don't know Mick Jagger personally though he was kind enough to pose for this recent selfie and made my two kids very happy. (Thanks, Sir M, you're a gent!) What I do know, from my own lifetime in the performing arts, is that he and other musicians understand time rather differently to the rest of the world.

How to Turn Mindless Shop-Fest Into Mindful Adventure

Are the wide open spaces of Nature intrinsically more inspiring than urban landscape? No doubt Machu Pichu, the Himalayas and the Okavango are uplifting but they're also thousands of expensive, carbon-spewing miles away. Can't we find the miraculous on our own doorstep?
