Deborah Smith

Deborah is a radio journalist and international media development consultant. She has worked with journalists, academics and NGO’s in Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Lithuania, Belarus, China, Middle East, France, Australia, and the UK. She holds a BA in Journalism and has won several international awards for radio documentary making. Deborah has been working in Afghanistan as a journalist. This blog explores, retrospectively, making the difficult decision whether to take the job in Afghanistan, and where it finally led her, both personally and professionally. For privacy reasons Deborah writes under a pseudonym.
