Donavan Whyte

Vice President, EMEA Enterprise & Education at Rosetta Stone

Donavan Whyte is Vice President, EMEA Enterprise & Education, at Rosetta Stone. He leads the company’s regional institutional division in the UK, Germany, Spain, and the UAE, delivering online language-training solutions to schools, businesses, and public sector organisations.

Donavan joined Rosetta Stone in 2007 and has been instrumental in growing the EMEA business within the UK, and establishing new international markets such as the Middle East and Australia. Rosetta Stone’s new leadership development programme is a brain child of Donavan. He also serves as one of the team’s strongest advocates for product development, always focusing on market and customer needs.

A visionary entrepreneur with a keen interest in talent development and team performance, Donavan began his career in the UK Royal Marine Corps, and later earned a degree in business management before entering the commercial world to begin a long-standing and successful career in business. As a young entrepreneur, Donavan set up the London operation of Star Internet/MessageLabs before it was bought by tech giant Symantec, and later held senior leadership positions at Lexis-Nexis in Europe and Experian, where he orchestrated the launch of an innovative CD-based product in 1995.

Travelling to over 35 countries during his career, Donovan learned first-hand the value of language skills and cultural awareness--characteristics that have taken an important place in Donavan’s core beliefs. For over 20 years he has been a mentor to both young high-potential professionals and school children from disadvantaged backgrounds; these experiences have given Donovan valuable insights into building high-performing teams throughout his professional career.

Donavan is learning Spanish with Rosetta Stone with a view toward developing the Spanish-speaking market in Europe and supporting growth regions in South America.
