Composer and campaigner with Art Not Oil Coalition
Chris Garrard is a composer, performer and campaigner with BP or not BP? and the Art Not Oil coalition. In 2012, he co-founded Shell Out Sounds, a vocal ensemble that successfully campaigned for the end of Shell’s sponsorship of London’s Southbank Centre. He holds a doctorate in Music from the University of Oxford and ensembles including Oxford Philomusica and the London Chamber Orchestra have performed his music. He was the Music & Musicians Coordinator for Greenpeace’s ‘Requiem for Arctic Ice’ project, a month-long series of musical direct action performances outside Shell’s London headquarters.
