Dr Elizabeth Yardley

Professor of Criminology and Director of Birmingham City University’s Centre for Applied Criminology.

As Director of Birmingham City University’s Centre for Applied Criminology, Elizabeth works within a specialist centre engaged in a diverse range of research endeavours in and around the criminal justice system.

Her research interests include homicide and violent crime, particularly the role of networked media in criminality. In addition, her research has also encompassed contemporary true crime entertainment and domestic abuse.

Elizabeth is the creator and host of Crime Bites podcast and is a regular commentator for TV and radio. She also blogs regularly on Birmingham City University’s blog site.
