Dr Jen Gupta

Astrophysicist and science communicator

Dr Jen Gupta is an astrophysicist and science communicator. She works at the University of Portsmouth in the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation (www.icg.port.ac.uk) where she is the South East Physics Network(www.sepnet.ac.uk)/Ogden(www.ogdentrust.com) Outreach Officer. This role involves her talking to as many people as possible about astronomy and space, and getting them excited about the Universe we live in. She did her PhD at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics at the University of Manchester, studying a weird subset of galaxies called blazars. In her spare time Jen can be found presenting planetarium shows at the Winchester Science Centre(www.winchestersciencecentre.org/) and helping to run the Winchester Science Festival(www.winchesterscifest.org/).
