Dr Terence M. Dovey

Psychologist and eating behaviour specialist, Brunel University London

I am a behavioural therapist and specialist in feeding disorders (now called avoidant/restrictive eating disorders). My research interests include anything and everything to do with eating behaviour. I have published many peer-reviewed papers and books on the topic, covering everything from the psychopharmacological treatments for obesity to deciding to try new foods. My main research interests are in treatment of avoidant/restrictive eating disorders in children. These include finding effective treatments. As part of these research goals, I am very interested in how children overcome tube-dependency and helping children to move to normal eating following a period of tube feeding or an eating disorder. In addition to these main research goals, I am also very interested in the impact of food advertising on eating behaviour.
