Fiona O’Donnell

Member of Parliament for East Lothian and Member of the House of Commons’ International Development Select Committee

Before being elected as MP for East Lothian in 2010, Fiona O’Donnell held various paid and voluntary positions with organisations focused on mental health and vulnerable children. She also worked for the Labour Party and for Douglas Alexander MP, whilst also finding time to raise her four children.

Having served on the Scottish Affairs Select Committee and as Parliamentary Private Secretary to the then Shadow Health Secretary, she was appointed as Shadow Minister for the Natural Environment and Fisheries in 2011. Since 2012 she has been a Member of the International Development Select Committee, tasked with examining the Department for International Development’s activities and budget. Fiona also serves on the Commons’ Standards and Privileges Committees and as Vice-Chair of the All-Party Group on Global Education.
