Founder of PRECIOUS Awards. Britain's leading business awards for women of colour. Endorsed by UK Prime Minister. FRSA

In 1999, I built and launched PRECIOUS, the first digital magazine for women of colour in the UK. I launched the PRECIOUS Awards in 2007 to provide a platform to inspire, encourage and recognise successful women of colour in UK business and recognise those playing leadership roles within corporate life.

Now in its tenth year, the PRECIOUS Awards have been key in uncovering the success stories of women of colour, informing the wider business community and driving change. The event has forged partnerships with organisations including The British Library, Barclays, Pearson plc, Credit Suisse, Ernst & Young and the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Entrepreneurship.

In 2008 I was named in the top 100 in Courvoisier’s “The Future 500” a list of the country’s top achievers across ten wide-ranging categories.

I was honoured with an MBE in the 2010 New Year’s Honours List for services to the Creative Industries. In 2011, I was invited to be a Titan by the School of Creative Start-Ups, an
innovative social enterprise.

In 2012 I was awarded a Media Pioneer Award at the Specialist Media Show awards. In 2015 I was named in the Independent on Sunday’s Happy List, a collection of 100 inspirational heroes and heroines whose kindness, ingenuity and bravery make Britain a better place to live.
