Research analyst
Gerbrandt van Heerden is currently a research analyst at the South African Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR). He started working at the SAIRR in August 2014 as a researcher and since January 2016 continued as a research analyst at the SAIRR. In 2010, Gerbrandt became a student at the North West University, Potchefstroom campus, and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. He also went on to do his Honours Degree in Political Sciences, which he achieved in 2015. In addition to his time at the SAIRR, Gerbrandt also participated in a number of workshops including a Powerpoint- and an Excel workshop organised by INNOVATEC AFRICA. In March 2016, he volunteered as a radio presenter for a brand new radio station in South Africa called Gay SA Radio. Gerbrandt is set to finish his dissertation on South Africa’s political spectrum for his master’s degree by the end of 2017.
