Henry Dartnall

Producer, Singer and Guitarist in Oxford experimental Indie band Young Knives

Henry formed Young Knives with his brother The House of Lords and drummer Oliver Askew in 1995 in Ashby de-la Zouch. Back then they were called Simple Pastoral Existence and did songs about Runner beans and Scabies. Then they moved to Oxford in 1999, listened to a load of post punk and got loud. Since releasing their first two albums on Transgressive records (the first of which was Mercury Prize nominated) and their third through PIAS Young Knives have made a sonic and business leap into DIY music making. Armed with the mixing desk used to record Right said Fred's hit "I'm too sexy for my shirt" the trio have embarked on a journey into home made samples, filthy guitars and industrial fun.
