Wolf-whistling is not designed to flatter women, it's about power and control. Fail to respond to a wolf-whistler and most women will recognise what happens next. From cries of <em>Alright love</em> or <em>Give us a smile</em> to <em>Miserable bitch</em> a woman who attempts to ignore unwanted attention is failing to play the game, be grateful and submit to a male's advances. See where this is heading?

Can we please stop this narrative that suggests women are incapable of recovering from failed relationships, or those that sadly run their course, and instead recognise many women not only survive but thrive without a partner?

This is the reaction of women outraged with a recent image Jools Oliver posted on her Instagram account. Jools appears to have regained her pre-pregnancy body, a mere five weeks after giving birth, and this makes her a legitimate target to attack.

But if we accept there is danger in 'too thin' then we also need to acknowledge the issue with 'too fat'. If we ban anorexia and underweight from the catwalk are we also going to ban obesity and overweight too? Why are we demonising 'skinny'?

If I was worried about sexualising schoolgirls in 1998 it's nothing compared to how I feel about this in 2016. Historical child abuse claims are firmly in the spotlight and high profile cases involving celebrities, politicians and others have resulted in a heightened awareness and understanding of the extent of the problem.

Why did he take to social media to share this footage? Why was it only afterwards that the police were made aware of it? Since when does the court of public opinion carry more weight than the police or our judiciary?

Female harassment is the topic of our conversation, I'm consoling my daughter after listening to her latest experience. It's a common problem for women daily, on our streets, and even underage girls in school uniform are not spared.

Please don't tell female runners to laugh off attention when they run, please don't tell them it means nothing and it's just a bit of harmless fun. Casual harassment is simply that, it's harassment, unwanted attention, and it needs to stop.
