Jacqui is 64, and lives in Stockport with her wonderful spaniel Tia. Jacqui was diagnosed with young-onset Alzheimer’s disease in January 2018. It took her two years to get a diagnosis, despite numerous trips to her GP. She describes getting her diagnosis as a moment of relief, which has opened up a wealth of support and she is in regular contact with her local Memory Clinic, and attends a support group specifically for people with young-onset dementia. Jacqui is an active campaigner for the rights of people with dementia and is a passionate supporter of Alzheimer’s Society.
