When it comes to interviews, some would have you believe that you'll be asked one of several hundred interview questions, all fundamentally different. My view is that there are a limited number of valid, distinct questions to contend with.

It's a well-known fact that young jobseekers are much more likely to be successful in their job hunt if they have some relevant experience under their belt. Internships and work experience are undoubtedly an important part of finding a job - but they're a lot more than just a box to tick to bulk up your CV.

The question 'who do you support?' might bring to mind political parties and sports teams (Chelsea, if you're asking). It's not as often that you hear people discussing the charitable causes they're passionate about. Having a good cause that you support is something I truly believe in.

While there's no doubt that volunteering is a good way to give back to the community and promote a worthwhile cause, it doesn't have to be all about what you can do for others. Volunteering is also a rewarding experience for the volunteer. From learning new skills to meeting new people, there's plenty to be gained.

Starting out on the career ladder can take time, but once you secure your first job, it will be a lot easier to progress, either within the company or in another role. The job market has changed considerably since I started out but it's still just as important to approach your career with the right mindset, the right outlook and real drive.
