Jane Wernick

Structural engineer

Jane Wernick is a structural engineer who has worked in both Europe and the USA. She has specialised in the design of structures which play a large role in the total architecture of the building. In addition to the more usual structural forms and materials she has a wide experience of working on projects with irregular and complex geometries, and of lightweight structures. She worked for Ove Arup and Partners from 1976-1979, and from 1982-1988. She worked for Birdair Structures Inc. from 1980-1981. She was Principal in Charge of Ove Arup & Partners’ Los Angeles office from 1986-88 and was an Associate Director of Ove Arup & Partners from 1989 where her most notable project was the Millennium Wheel. She is now Director of Jane Wernick Associates and a supporter of the Talent 2030 campaign.
