Today's feminist blogger

I am a feminist, a believer in equality, and a lover of all things community. Being passionate about women's rights is within everything I do, say and feel.

My background is in youth and community work. I trained, and worked, for ten years within specialist fields such as substance misuse, safeguarding children and domestic violence.

Following the death of my Mother, late 2013, my Wife and I decided we wanted time out to re-evaluate our own life choices. In December 2014 we moved to rural Herefordshire where we have had an idyllic break away from city living ever since. This has given me the opportunity to explore my creative side and in particular, write.

I write as much as I can, as often as I can, about issues that I am passionate about. Feminist and LGBT issues feature heavily within my work. My blogs can be found at ‘Today’s Feminist Blog’: www.todaysfeministblog.wordpress.com
I was fortunate enough to write about my recent life changes on DIVA Magazine Online www.divamag.co.uk/category/lifestyle/choosing-me-the-final-muse.aspx for a number of weeks during autumn 2015 and also in February 2016. I am currently researching, and writing, a monthly column for DIVA (‘Queer in the Country’) exploring rural LGBT communities in the UK. I hope to write for other publications in the forthcoming year.

My plan is to return to work within the youth and community field, particularly within the women’s sector, alongside writing. But, for now, this time-out has given me the opportunity to write, breathe, and walk the little legs off our two dogs! Home is made up of two women, two Labradors and a senile tabby cat.
