Labour MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire North

Jim Sheridan is MP was elected to Parliament at the 2001 General Election as MP for West Renfrewshire. Following boundary changes Jim was selected as the Labour candidate for the new Paisley and Renfrewshire North constituency, and he has held that seat since then. Prior to entering politics he worked as a material handler for Thales Optronics and served as a Union Convenor with the Transport and General Workers Union (now Unite). Jim sits on the Culture, Media and Sport select committee and is Chair of the Unite the Union Parliamentary Group.
