Headteacher, educator, scientist and mother
Jo Heywood is Head of Heathfield School in Ascot, a leading UK boarding school for 11-18 year old girls, and she has worked in education for over 20 years.
She has taught in mixed and girls’ only schools and has worked in both the State and Independent sectors.
A scientist, she is particularly dedicated to opening up opportunities for girls to study academic subjects which might previously have been seen as traditionally male and to banish such prejudices.
A mother of three children as well as an educator, she has become well-known as a commentator on education in the UK national and education press.
