The pay rise announced by Jeremy Hunt isn't as good as it sounds
Joan Pons Laplana is very passionate about nursing. He always puts his patients first, and always praised by them for his care, respect and high quality nursing. He is always available to support colleagues who are in need of him. He is pushing out the boundaries of the NHS by being active on Social Media and showing that one can be digital and caring. He has infectious energy and enthusiasm. He is passionate about making needs-based, person-centred nursing decisions whilst being sensitive to any cultural or other factors. His record speaks for itself. He supports staff to drive the standards of care up on a daily basis. He is helping to influence direct patient care through championing the 6Cs and encouraging people to think differently. He has a cabinet full of awards but his best achievement is that he is making a positive difference to people.

'Home' is about respect, about belonging, about feeling safe and valued, about being 100% welcome. But today I don't feel welcome.
