Katie Alcott

Founder and CEO of FRANK Water

At the age of 17, Katie spent several months teaching at a community school in Jammu & Kashmir, Northern India where she contracted dysentery from drinking dirty water. Her interest in international development coupled with her own experience of waterborne disease drove her to take action.

In 2005, Katie founded FRANK Water. By selling her own ethical brand of bottled water in the UK, she could help save lives by funding innovative and sustainable clean water projects in developing countries.

Winner of multiple awards for social entrepeneurship, Katie now focuses her time on the charitable side of the business, FRANK Water Projects, which has funded 114 sustainable, community-led clean water projects in rural India. Now only one of many sources of funding, FRANK Water continues to sell bottled water in outlets in and around the South West and London.
