Most at home in downtown Cairo and Amman, Katie is a freelance writer and researcher covering the Middle East. Since somewhat accidentally living in Egypt in 2010, she has since moved backwards and forwards between Egypt, Jordan and the UK. She is a part-time researcher working on Islamic activism - in particular, the Muslim Brotherhood - and writes with fellow freelancer Emma Pearson about social and political developments within Egypt, Jordan and Syria.
