Laurenne studied Modern and Medieval Languages at the University of Cambridge where she was also a Choral Scholar. She has been studying feminism since writing her finals dissertation on "Wagners Operas and his feminine Art Form" for which she was awarded first class.

She now works in the City in business development in Asset Management. She is a trained chartered accountant and has 7 years experience in the financial industry.

Laurenne is also a trained Soprano and has performed all over the world with choirs, notably in America and Japan. She is a founding member of the Singing Mums, a classical busking duo. The Singing Mums attracted a lot of press attention busking in St Albans with their babies and provided classical concerts locally for Mothers and Babies. Their grand finale was singing to Gary Barlow at Wembley for X-Factor last summer!

Laurenne explores issues of feminism and art through her blog Space4Mum where she has built up a global readership over the past month. She is a big fan of Arianna Huffington and is delighted to be blogging for the Huffington Post.
