What happens when a piece of clothing is too worn to be, well, worn again? Has it reached its end of life? Judging by the millions of tons of clothing ending up in landfills across the world, one would think so. But it doesn't have to be.

Leslie has been Executive Director of the C&A Foundation since 2013 and has previously worked in a number of sectors, including small holder agribusiness, entrepreneurship and corporate philanthropy. She was Deputy Director for TechoServe in West and Southern Africa. She started her career with McKinsey & Company and holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy and French from University of California at Berkeley.
I believe that the global apparel industry can lead change. If companies know how and where their products are made, they can take the steps needed to create fair and safe conditions for workers worldwide.
