Liesl Louw-Vaudran is a Senior Research Consultant with the Peace and Security Research Programme of the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) in Pretoria. She is the editor of the African Union Peace and Security Council Report, a monthly publication of the ISS.  Liesl is a former foreign correspondent and Africa editor of Media24 Newspapers in South Africa, with over twenty years’ experience working in various African countries. Her latest book entitled: ‘South Africa in Africa: Superpower or Neocolonialist’  (Tafelberg 2016) looks at South Africa’s role in Africa after the end of apartheid.
