Mike Jakeman is the global analyst on The Economist Intelligence Unit's global forecasting team. He has a particular focus on the economics and politics of North America. He writes regular analysis on the biggest issues that shape the EIU's forecasts and speaks frequently to the international media. He is a regular presenter and moderator at Economist Conferences in Europe, America and Asia.

Before joining the global forecasting team, Mike was an analyst on the Asia editorial team, leading the EIU's coverage of Australia and South-east Asia. Prior to joining the EIU in 2008, he edited non-fiction books for Bloomsbury Publishing. Mike has studied economics at the University of London and has a degree in English from Oxford University.
