Leading neurosurgeon appearing on 'Brain Hospital'

Mr Michael D Jenkinson – BSc, MBChB, PhD, FRCSEd

Leading neurosurgeon Michael Jenkinson was appointed as a Consultant Neurosurgeon at The Walton Centre in 2010. Prior to this appointment he trained with the hospital for nine years spending three years as a research fellow, which culminated in a PhD.

Mr Jenkinson has studied awake craniotomy and brain mapping techniques in Liverpool, San Francisco and Montpellier and was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2009. He is a specialist in awake craniotomy and intra-operative brain mapping for low-grade glioma; and a specialist in midline approaches to deep intrinsic tumours.

Mr Jenkinson sits on the Trust’s Research and Development Committee and the Drugs and Therapeutics and Medicines Management committee.
