Norman Baker

Minister of State for Crime Prevention, Lib Dem MP for Lewes

Norman Baker was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary for Transport in May 2010. He is the Liberal Democrat MP for Lewes.

Norman was educated at The Royal Liberty School in Gidea Park and studied at Royal Holloway College, University of London. He held a number of jobs after leaving university, including Regional Director for Our Price Records and a teacher of English as a foreign language. He was elected as a local councillor in 1987 and in 1991 became the Liberal Democrat Leader of Lewes District Council.
