Paul King

Proud guide dog owner

My name is Paul King, I’m 57 and I live with my wife, Elaine, and one of our four children in the Wirral. Before getting my guide dog, Oscar, I hadn’t left my home on my own for eight years. People always assumed it was because of something like agoraphobia, but it wasn’t. It was simply because I’m blind.

I’m also one of the people with sight loss who star in the charity Guide Dogs’ new Sponsor A Puppy advert. I’m hoping they will match me up with my own guide dog soon, as I can’t wait to be able to start getting out and about independently.
