Chief Executive of the UK Cinema Association, representing the interests of UK cinema operators

Phil Clapp was appointed CEO of the UK Cinema Association (UKCA, previously the Cinema Exhibitors' Association) in October 2007. Before joining the UKCA, he had led on policy for the creative industries - including film, music, computer games, fashion and design - at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS).Before joining the Culture Department, he had worked at the Cabinet Office advising the (then) Labour Government on social policy issues.

Phil joined the public sector in 1994 from a background in scientific research.
