Pierre Dukan

Pierre Dukan is the founder of the Dukan Diet and has helped millions of people worldwide lose weight successfully thanks to his best selling book and online coaching programme.

He became one of France’s youngest general physicians at the age of 23. Early in his career an obese patient sought help to lose weight without cutting meat from his diet. Dr Dukan helped his patient lose 10lbs in five days and the acclaimed Dukan Diet was born.

The Dukan Diet launched in 2000 and has since become the most popular weight loss method in France and is acclaimed worldwide.
After half a century of practicing medicine Pierre Dukan took himself off the French medical register so that he wasn’t restricted in what he could say on the subject of obesity. Today Pierre Dukan is a recognised figure in the fight against obesity in Spain, UK, Italy, Germany, Poland, China, US, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Russia – to name a few.

Inevitably, success has brought controversy. Dr Dukan’s method is new in a nutritional sector that for over 50 years has recommended low-calorie, reduced-intake diets despite a continued increase in obesity.

Pierre Dukan is willing to take the attacks: improving society sometimes requires shaking it up.
