Pratik Sufi is a consultant general surgeon specialising in the surgical treatment of obesity, performing weight loss surgery procedures such as gastric balloons, scarless bariatric surgery (POSE) and keyhole (laparoscopic) bariatric surgery (gastric band, sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass).

He is a member of British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS) Standards Subcommittee and is involved in setting up the national standards for bariatric surgery provision in the UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS). He is also a member of International Federation for Surgery of Obesity and metabolic Diseases (IFSO) and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS).

Sufi is the Head of the Bariatric and Benign Upper GI Service at Spire Bushey Hospital.

With a keen interest in minimally invasive surgery, Sufi has travelled extensively to centres of excellence in Hamburg, Prague, Strasbourg, Oslo, Madeira, Oporto, Paris and Lyon to acquire advanced Laparoscopic, Endoscopic, Upper Gastro-Intestinal and Bariatric Surgical
skills.
