I am a historian and digital humanist of twentieth century British and American history, with a particular focus on Second World War internment, immigration and minority history, historical memory, commemoration and the preservation of sites of historical memory, business history, philanthropy, and information management.

I completed my BA, MA, and doctorate at Royal Holloway, University of London, under the supervision of Professor David Cesarani OBE. I was the recipient of two grants from the Friendly Hand Charitable Trust in 2010 and 2011, which enabled me to visit archives and sites of former internment camps in the United States of America and on the Isle of Man.

My book, Internment During the Second World War: A Comparative Study of Great Britain and the USA is published by Bloomsbury https://www.amazon.co.uk/Internment-During-Second-World-War/dp/1350001422
