Rob Tominey

Founder, Mainstage Travel

Rob worked out his ambitions whist studying economics at Manchester University and was already a student brand manager and running his own online ticket company when he met his business partner, Aden Levin. In 2011 they set up Mainstage Travel, to capture a gap in the market for low-priced, youth-focussed package holidays. Mainstage Travel tapped into the changing way that individuals are now booking their holidays. More exciting than anything old-school travel agents could offer, as well as being much cheaper and more convenient than could be booked online piece by piece, Mainstage Travel hit the ground running. Rob approached the BBC’s Dragons’ Den programme in April 2013 and was selected to pitch Mainstage Travel with his business partner,Aden. Dragon Piers Linney bought a 15% share in the business, valuing the two year old company at £670,000. Since having Piers on board, the business has gone from strength to strength.
